Description

The second-generation Plymouth Barracuda is a beloved American classic that touts clean body lines and extensive aftermarket support. This particular Barracuda has been thoroughly modified inside and out for drag racing, and it looks like a truly impressive build. It also boasts a monstrous 540-cubic-inch supercharged V8 – along with a long list of other upgrades like a Dutchman Motorsports 9-inch rear end, Art Morrison chassis reinforcements, 15-inch Bogart wheels, a 10-point roll cage, and much more.

1967 Plymouth Barracuda Hardtop, finished in black with a beige interior.

  • This Barracuda has been extensively modified for drag racing. Its factory-fitted engine was replaced by a 540-cubic-inch Chrysler Mega Block V8 engine fitted with a ProCharger F-2 supercharger kit, according to the seller.
  • A partial list of notable currently installed equipment reported by the seller includes Indy cylinder heads, an electric water pump, a C&S Specialties carburetor, a Dutchman Motorsports narrowed 9-inch rear end, coilovers, 11-inch front and rear disc brakes, 15-inch Bogart wheels, and a 10-point roll cage.
  • Released for 1964, the Barracuda was Plymouth’s entry into the pony car segment. The second-generation model made its debut for 1967 with sportier styling than its predecessor, three available body styles, and either a straight-6 or a V8. Production ended after the 1969 model year.
  • Power comes from a 540-cubic-inch supercharged V8. The seller estimates its output to be at around 1,200 horsepower, but a dyno sheet was not provided to confirm. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission.
